A portrait is a beautiful and complex image that captures the essence of a person. Nancy Loeber as a part of her art practice has mastered capturing a portrait on press through a beautiful reductive block technique. In this class students will learn from her how to analyze an image and reduce it to layers to create their own unique image. Students will learn about cutting tools, materials, carving sequence and ink mixing and how to print their own edition of images. All Materials provided.
Nancy Loeber is a printmaker and bookbinder living in Brooklyn, NY. She has taught at the Center for Book Arts, Pratt University, Fashion Institute of Technology, and the Center for Contemporary Printmaking.
