The Center for Book Arts’ Education Program strives to engage a wide audience, providing beginning students and professional artists alike with a comprehensive and technically challenging curriculum. In addition to foundation coursework in letterpress printing and bookbinding, we provide structured opportunities for working artists from other media to expand their creative practice in bookmaking. You are strongly encouraged to register early, as class size is limited and instructors often need to prepare in advance. Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You may register in person, by phone, or online. Please note that we cannot reserve your place in a class without having received full payment via credit card or check. Tuition payments will be processed as soon as a class has met its minimum enrollment. We will hold your payment if a class is under enrolled until it has met its minimum enrollment. You can see the entire schedule of classes and register online here.
* Please Note: Classes in the printshop use solvents. The Center’s classes are not suitable for pregnant women or those with a sensitivity to solvents.
