Mark Cockram, 2017 Master Faculty Fellow
December 16-17, Saturday & Sunday, 10 am-4 pm
This 2 day course is intended to allow the student to explore and investigate design and material use in a more creative and open framework. It will give students the opportunity to select and explore a range of media and materials, and to pursue design ideas through development of their own personal style in the production and applied decoration of a Flat Back Case binding.
During the class you will learn:
*To identify and apply appropriate materials and mediums.
*To stimulate creativity.
*To respond and create an individual style.
*To develop further confidence based on a sound foundation knowledge of material use and manipulation.
By the end of the class students will be able to identify and use appropriate materials and techniques, realize design ideas, produce experimental concepts, and combine both traditional and contemporary methods, materials and mediums to the book form.
