June 9-11, Friday – Sunday, 10-4pm
In this class you will learn to make hardcover case bindings for pamphlets, flat back books, and a book with a rounded spine. You will learn about the structure beneath the boards and make your own bookcloth to cover it. This class is suitable for beginners, but students should have taken Bookbinding I (A) prior.
Bookbinding I, part of our Core Curriculum and taught by our Core Instructors, is now offered in two successive parts: Bookbinding I (A) and Bookbinding I (B). Taking the two classes together is equivalent to our Bookbinding I (A+B) section.
For this class, all materials are included, but please bring the following tools with you to each class. Tools marked with a star (*) are available for purchase at the time your class starts.
Cutting tool such as X-acto knives, and Olfa snap blades* (strongly preferred)
