About the Workshop:

This virtual class at Center for Book Arts is taught by instructor Paula Beardell Krieg.

The ability to construct well-crafted solids opens up a world of possibilities within all areas of paper arts. We start with placing the study of solids in historical context, referencing the concepts developed centuries ago by Plato and Lui Hiu, and will move forward in time to modern masters such as Franz Zeier and Tomoko Fuse.

Gaining familiarity with these solids invites entry into a realm of puzzles, surprising kaleidocycle transformations, and striking visuals. Discussions will include methods of incorporating interior lights and examining how solid forms invite inclusion of non-linear content.
