  • Tuesday, Aug 10, 1:00-3:00pm EDT

 

This two-hour workshop will introduce students to the basic mechanisms of pop-up books through the assembly of a pop-up tofu soup. This is an example of a pull-tab technique in the making of pop-up books. While this is an extension of the previous “Make Your Own Food Pop-Up Card” workshop, you are welcome to attend without prior experience of book-making or paper engineering.

 

Required Materials:

  • Scissors
  • X-acto knife with blades
  • Self-healing cutting mat
  • Double-sided tape
  • Cardstock paper
  • Colored pencils

About the Instructor

Sherry is a designer, researcher and professor at the City College of New York. She holds an MFA in Visual Studies from Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She once installed a restaurant at SooVAC, where people could make books that resembled different breakfast food like toast, fruit, cheese and egg.
