Experimental Paper/Experimental Books

Internationally recognized paper and book artist Helen Hiebert of Edwards, Colorado, will share examples of her most recent work including Interluceo, an editioned artist’s book dealing with geometry, color, and light and featuring paper cut illustrations by Béatrice Coron; The Wish Project, a community engagement project that is permanently installed at a library in Denver; her blog called The Sunday Paper; and her newest book project having to do with words about Mother/hood. Helen will have a selection of her artists’ books to show, as well as copies of her autographed how-to books and handmade papers for sale. View Helen’s portfolio at helenhiebertstudio.com.
This lecture is offered in conjunction with Helen’s workshop Collapsible Books, Saturday & Sunday, September 26-27, 10am-4pm at the Center.
Fun fact: Helen’s career began in the early 1990’s when she was a work/study volunteer at CBA and an intern at Dieu Donné Papermill.
