Jennifer Verbit is an NYC native.
She attended Alfred University, in Western NY, where she studied painting and printmaking and graduated with a BFA.
Following college, Verbit discovered the art of bookmaking, and she has been studying bookbinding for over fifteen years at Center for Book Arts.
In 2019, Verbit was a Su-Casa Grantee, and taught a 5 month, weekly Book Arts program at Riversone Senior Center in Washington Heights. And in 2022, she was awarded a grant with the NYPL for the Creative Aging program, teaching an eight week Book Arts workshop at Allerton Branch in the Bronx.
Verbit is experienced in teaching hands-on book arts skills to children, teens, adults, and senior citizens. Additionally, Verbit has been working at Paper Source for the past 6 years where she has been teaching card making and stamping techniques to adults and children. She has integrated some of the stamping techniques into her book art decorative element teaching and it has been a great success.
