Kristen Mueller
Kristen Mueller is an artist and publisher (Some Other Books) based in Queens. She is developing a body of work exploring motherhood and artistic practice and welcomes submissions to a compendium of artists’ books she’s assembling on this topic. Mueller’s books transform previously-printed matter by way of digital and hand alterations. They have been shown in The Library Vaccine (Artists Space, NY) Accadrà Domani (Museo Marino Marini, IT), Flip—About Image Construction (KASK, BE). They’re held in John M. Flaxman Library (IL), Gund Memorial Library (OH), Goldsmiths Library (UK). Mueller co-organized the workshops Recto / Verso: Art Publishing in Practice, NY with Paige Landesberg and Publishing as Artistic Practice (DE) with Annette Gilbert. She has lectured on artists’ books at RISD (RI), Brown University (RI), FIT (NY), Academy of Fine Arts Leipzig (DE), Freie Universität (DE), Keynes Library (UK). She is the former Director of Artbook @ MoMA PS1 Bookstore.
