bookworks by young people
“As part of its Educational Outreach Program, the Center for Book Arts presents this special exhibition of bookworks by young people entitled ‘Cultural Autobiography.’ This exhibition features books created by high school students during a week long, tuition-free course offered by the Center in August. The class was attended by seven students of diverse backgrounds…and was taught by Cheryl Shackelton, a book artist in the field of conservation.”
Support for the Center for Book Arts’ visual arts programming is provided, in part, by the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
