Asuka Ohsawa

Asuka Ohsawa is an artist and educator based in Brooklyn, NY. Using insatiable curiosity as a guiding principle, she shares her love for learning and the dissemination of information through books and zines. She believes in the power of independent publishing to embrace and celebrate the eccentric, the obscure, the forgotten, and the marginalized.
Asuka’s zines and artists’ books are in numerous public collections, including Bainbridge Island Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Virginia Commonwealth University, Emily Carr University of Art and Design, and San Francisco Public Library.
Asuka has taught printmaking, bookmaking, and surface design classes and workshops at School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, Parsons School of Design, Montclair State University, San Francisco Art Institute, and Penland School of Craft.
