David Solo

Bio

David Solo is a Brooklyn based collector, independent writer and researcher, and patron focused on artist and photo books and related art; also spending about a third of the year in Europe (mostly London).  He is a frequent speaker on artist/photo books in NY and Europe and writes on those subjects.   He is actively involved with a number of institutions in London and New York (New York Public Library, Kraszna-Krausz Foundation, 10×10 photobooks) serving on various boards and committees (previous service includes Aperture, Tate, Freer and Sackler Gallery, Center for Book Arts).  David is a co-founder of the Book Art Review initiative, curated the Photobibliomania exhibition at the ICP library and has supported a wide range of publishing, exhibition and public programming activities in the artist book space.   Most recently he is working on the global history of photography and poetry in book form as well as related photo-text topics.  His professional career has been in the technology, risk and financial sectors
