Embodied Alienation

Large red stained canvas book, bound with grommets and an old usb cable dipped in silver paint. I was inspired by Mary Heilmann’s Book of the Night. The book subverts the function of written text not only by omitting text completely, but also by pushing against the expectations of content delivery within the book form itself. The reader must turn the pages and see what can be read phenomenologically instead of literally.
