Broadsides
Notes about Notes is thoughts, scraps, tears, and fingerprints interwoven. Roni Aviv’s handmade drumleaf book overlaps, occludes, and references itself, turning the familiar unfamiliar to remind one that “facts live in a field of language that is very malleable.”
Aviv embodies her process through an interwoven text that thinks, makes, deals and struggles with itself on the page. A single line re-appears, spliced anew to reckon and re-reckon with “linear responsibility.” The book moves in spirals of varied legibility, visibility, and redaction to reveal.
