The Internal Machine

“The Internal Machine” was shown from October 6 – December 16, 2017 at the Center for Book Arts. Co-curated by Alexander Campos and John Roach, The Internal Machine suggested a perspective that considered the book object as a piece of technology. Utilizing a thought process that highlights the relationship between form and function and their dual contribution to the movement of a book through time and space, The Internal Machine prompted the question of a book’s structure in relation to its purpose.
