Struggle from Afar: Ethiopian Women for Peace and Human Rights Activists in the Diaspora, by Maigenet Shifferraw, is a collective biography of Ethiopian women activists in the United States who worked within the Ethiopian Women for Peace  and Development a civic organization established in 1991. It is a powerful testimony of the role that Ethiopian women in diaspora played in promoting in the region, that would inspire many Ethiopian young women at home and in the diaspora to continue the struggle for peace and the respect of human rights.
