About the Event

Center for Book Arts is delighted to partner with our neighbor Poster House to offer a linoleum-printing workshop inspired by their wonderful exhibition, Ethel Reed: I Am My Own Property, on view through August 21, 2022!

Led by CBA Instructor & Studio Manager, Elizabeth Castaldo, the workshop covers the basic techniques of relief carving and printing. Participants will learn to use linocut tools to carve their own unique designs into speedy carve blocks, which have a soft, eraser-like consistency. Then participants will use the blocks to print their designs on paper with water-based inks. After the workshop, you can take your custom block home to use in more printing projects!

This workshop is part of Poster House’s April 2022 Frist Friday programming. View the complete First Friday schedule here: posterhouse.org/first-friday-4
