Copy Room Riot!

Event Info

Create your own DIY mimeograph revolution!!

Pre-digital copiers like the mimeograph and hectograph freed 60’s radical activists, artists and writers from the constraints of the publishing industry and brought the power of the printing press to the PEOPLE. Learn more by joining us at our free Friday night open-house for social exchange, spontaneous creativity and sloppy printing. Try your hand at these cheap and easy techniques, and print your own manifesto!

If you’re interested in learning more about these techniques and incorporating them into your own practice, sign up for our weekend workshop on October 14 and 15, “Pre-Xerox Copier Technology and DIY Publishing.”

Rich Dana, author of Cheap Copies! The Obsolete Press Guide to DIY Mimeography, Hectography and Spirit Duplication will be on hand to talk more about the history of the Mimeograph Revolution and help you make your first DIY creation!
