About the Workshop:
This in-person workshop is taught by CBA instructor Iviva Olenick.
Looking to expand your book making abilities by adding surface texture and structure through embroidery and fabric? This workshop will present a variety of options as to how you may enhance book covers and folios in a tactile and creative way.
Participants will be lead through the creation of a comprehensive embroidery sampler to master around a dozen stitches. You will learn how to use textile-specific materials (lightweight and heavyweight interfacing, embroidery thread, dyed fabrics) to make several sample book covers and structures. This workshop is designed for students who have either taken “Embroidery On & Off the Page” or who already know the following embroidery stitches: running stitch, back stitch, chain stitch, and French knots.
Required Materials:
- Fabric (Muslin)
- Embroidery & thread
- Embroidery hoop
More specific materials lists will be provided in the email sent upon registration.
