About the Workshop:

This in-person workshop is taught by CBA Instructor Roni Gross.

Create a new artwork by altering a book that already exists.

The Altered Book has a long history in the book arts and has been utilized by many artists (Tom Phillips, Doug Beube, Buzz Spector, etc.) Throughout this workshop the printed page provides a backdrop to experiment with as participants learn a variety techniques that can be used to develop their own altered books. Create dimensional structures, weave paper, reconfigure pages into new graphic compositions, and cut through the text block to reveal what’s behind.

Participants will use their starting book to discover new themes without advanced planning. By the end of the workshop each participant will have generated their own experimental altered book.
