  • Wednesday, April 17, 6:00 – 8:30pm

Please Note: Registration for this workshop closes on April 10th, at 11:59 pm.

About the Workshop:

This in-person workshop is taught by CBA instructor Susan Joy Share.

This 3-Signature Book workshop introduces participants to a versatile binding technique developed by Hedi Kyle. The book opens flat and is perfect for writing, drawing, and collage.

Participants will create a journal or sketchbook with three hefty signatures sewn through the spine of a stiff card-weight paper cover. We’ll make a sewing card to learn the unique stitching, then reduce and transfer the pattern to the book cover. Templates will allow us to match the signature papers to your spine design, then all three signatures are interlaced and sewn at the same time. No previous bookbinding experience required!

Fun Fact: Both Hedi Kyle and Susan Joy Share were highly involved with CBA in its early days (1970s) and frequently exhibited their work.
