Anna Gurton-Wachter
Anna Gurton-Wachter is a writer, editor, and archivist. Her first full length book, Utopia Pipe Dream Memory, is available from Ugly Duckling Presse in 2019. Chapbooks include My Midwinter Poem (clones go home), Spring Bomb (dancing girl press), Mother of All (Above/Ground Press), The Abundance Chamber Works Alone (Essay Press), Blank Blank Blues (Horse Less Press), and CYRUS (Portable Press @ Yo-Yo Labs). Other work has appeared in The Brooklyn Rail, Social Text, Feminist Temporalities, Vestiges, 6×6 and elsewhere. Anna edits and makes books with DoubleCross Press, a poetry micro-press publishing handmade letterpress chapbooks. She has been a co-curator of the Segue Reading Series and together with Ian Dreiblatt she occasionally makes Counter Poetry, a low-tech high-fun online journal of writing and visual art.
Anna works full time as the archivist for The Keith Haring Foundation and part time as a reference librarian for NYU. She has visited classes to speak about writing, art, and archives at Hunter, SVA, Cooper Union, Hostos, The New School and LaGuardia Community College.
