Briony Anne Carlin

Briony Anne Carlin is an academic and curator based in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. She is a Doctoral Candidate at Newcastle University, where she is completing her thesis on the materiality and social agency of contemporary photobooks. Briony also teaches histories of art and photography courses with Newcastle University and the Photographers’ Gallery, London. Briony previously worked as Assistant Curator of Photographs at the Victoria and Albert Museum, where she worked on exhibitions including Into the Woods: Trees in Photography (2017) and the inaugural Photography Centre (2018), as well as conducting research with the Royal Photographic Society Collection and the Maurice Broomfield Archive.
