Jeff Friedman
Jeff Friedman is the author of six collections of poetry: Pretenders (2014), Working in Flour (2011), Black Threads (2007), Taking Down the Angel (2003), Scattering the Ashes (1998), all from Carnegie Mellon University Press, and The Record-Breaking Heat Wave (BkMk Press-University of Missouri-Kansas City, 1986). His poems, mini-stories, and translations have appeared in many literary magazines, including American Poetry Review, Poetry, 5 AM, New England Review, Poetry International, Quick Fiction, North American Review, Missouri Review, Ontario Review, Antioch Review, Agni Online, Boulevard, Big Bridge, 100-Word Story, Prairie Schooner, Sentence, New England Review Digital, Vestal Review, Plume, and The New Republic. His poems appeared in The New Bloomsbury Anthology of Contemporary Jewish Poets (2013), and one of his flash stories appeared in Flash Fiction Funny (2013). Friedman and Dzvinia Orlowsky were awarded a National Endowment of the Arts Literature Translation Fellowship for their translations of poems by Mieczyslaw Jastrun. Their translation of Memorials: A Selection was published by Dialogos Books in 2014.
A contributing editor to Natural Bridge and Anthem Literary Journal, Friedman lives in West Lebanon, New Hampshire with the artist Colleen Randall and their dog Ruby.
