Levi Sherman founded Artists’ Book Reviews in 2019 to promote criticism and appreciation of contemporary artists’ books. Before starting ABR, Levi wrote reviews for The Journal of Artists’ Books and Abecedarian Gallery. He is a member of the College Book Art Association’s Theory and Criticism Subcommittee and the book review editor for Openings: Studies in Book Art. Levi also makes artists’ books of his own, and holds an MFA in Book and Paper Art from Columbia College Chicago. His work is held in collections including the Joan Flasch Artists’ Book Collection and the University of Arizona Poetry Center, and has been supported by grants from the College Book Arts Association, Awesome Foundation, and Aiko Foundation.
