Linda Hanauer
Linda Hanauer (b. 1953, New York City)As a practicing artist, Linda values making things by hand. A printmaker and papermaker, she also creates handmade books. As Chairperson of the Middle School Art Department at The Dalton School, Linda taught studio art, papermaking, and bookbinding to middle school students for 46 years. She also created a high school Book Arts course that incorporated printmaking, papermaking and bookbinding structures from diverse cultures and times that intrigued her.
Linda’s previous teaching experience includes The Children’s Art Carnival, The Bank Street School for Children, The Bank Street College of Education, Bard Graduate Center Education Program, Teachers College, Columbia University, and The Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Cloisters.
Ms. Hanauer’s work has been exhibited at The New York Public Library, The Center for Book Arts, Departure Gallery, Hand in Hand Galleries, Women’s Studio Workshop, Central Booking Gallery, and Fairleigh Dickinson University Gallery.
