Lindsey Landfried

Bio

Landfried (b. 1988) is a visual artist, curator, and arts advocate. Her work has been exhibited throughout the United States and Germany with recent exhibitions at SPACE Gallery of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Millsaps College, Mississippi State University, Roanoke College, Takt Kunstraum Tapir, Momenta Art, and Space 4 Art: San Diego. 

A 2014-15 Pollock-Krasner award recipient and a 2013 German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) fellow for artistic practice, she has completed residencies at the MacDowell Colony, Vermont Studio Center, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and Takt Kunstraum Tapir Berlin. Featured in New American Paintings and winner of the 2015 jurors award at the UNC Asheville Works on Paper Biennial, she is represented by KWADRAT Berlin Germany and Galleri Urbane Dallas Texas. 

Landfried’s work includes public art commissioning in higher education settings, independent curatorial projects, and advocating for contemporary artists in rural settings. Long interested in the relationship between language, color, and art, her artwork is a material response to optical phenomenological experience.
