This event takes place on Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at 6:30 pm, onsite at Center for Book Arts, 28 W. 27th St. 3rd floor, New York, NY
About the Event:
The Center for Book Arts is hosting a small, private event in New York City with the authors and designer of “It Suddenly Occurred To Me,” an experimental biography on Venezuela by Emmy-nominated journalist Carlos P. Beltran, and poet, Yadira Silva.
Designed by award-winning book designer, Faride Mereb, the photo-book explores the socio-economic struggles of an entire nation through the photojournalism work of Carlos P. Beltran (2009-2014) and texts from Yadira Silva—some of them written from within Venezuelan prisons more than 30 years ago.
The 2012 short documentary “Voluntad & Paz” (Best Short at Sonoma International Film Festival) will be screened. The work tells the story of three former convicts as they cope with their freedom in Venezuela; it features the life of Yadira Silva, co-author of the photo-book “It Suddenly Occurred To Me.”
Wine and Venezuelan hors d’oeuvres courtesy of Michelin Guide winner CASA ORA.
