Laura Coombs
Laura Coombs is a graphic designer in New York, designing publications and visual identities in collaboration with institutions, architects, artists, and publishers including MIT Press, Columbia Books on Architecture and the City, Carnegie Museum of Art, Lisson Gallery, and Verso Books among others.
Her design practice has been recognized by the AIGA, ADC, Brno Biennial, TDC, Tokyo TDC, and the Center for Book Arts. Recent writing has been published in Sourcetype and The Serving Library Annual 2022/23. She has lectured at institutions including Columbia University, UPENN, the Yale School of Art, Strelka Institute, Southland Institute, Cooper Union, and Sci-Arc, among others.
Since 2017, she has been head of design at New Museum, also collaborating regularly with its technology affiliates New Inc and Rhizome. She holds a B.Arch from Cornell University and an MFA from the Yale School of Art. She is currently a Lecturer in graphic design at Princeton University.
