About the Workshop:

This in-person beginner’s class on letterpress printing at Center for Book Arts is taught by instructor Roni Gross.

In the workshop, students will learn how to set both metal and wood type, along with using the tools and Vandercook proof press. We will play with some modular shapes and explore alternative ways to create pattern and shapes. Roni Gross will teach the essentials of printing hand-set type like inking and impression and selecting typefaces and paper.

This class is ideal for those who wish to learn to print simple text-based projects on the Vandercooks such as business cards, correspondence cards, and/or poetry and prose.

Class size is limited to ensure an optimal student-to-teacher ratio. Register now before the remaining spots fill up!
