This is part five in a series of five Riso workshops, designed to build skills and familiarity with the process. You can register for any or all of these workshops. Riso 1 or Riso 2 and Riso 3 or Riso 4 are prerequisites for taking this workshop. Please be advised that a 10% discount will be automatically applied at checkout to registrations for any three or more sessions.

About the Workshop:

Welcome to “Ready, Set, RISO! Quick Publishing for Fast Times” – a workshop and creative challenge designed to equip participants with the skills needed to create their first RISO publications.

Discover the world of RISO printing and bring your creative vision to life in just two days. Guided by specific constraints and a curated set of tools, you’ll experience the entire process of developing, designing, printing, and finishing your RISO publication, whether it’s a print edition or a small zine. Throughout this immersive experience, you’ll gain a deep understanding of every stage of publishing.

 

Required Materials:

All materials will be provided by CBA.
Participants are welcome to bring any special material or equipment they would like to include in their publication.
 

About Eva Parra 

Eva Parra is a researcher, educator and printer. She is part of the curatorial collective Indisciplinadas where she has developed exhibitions such as No room for books and soft [cover] revolution. She is the co-founder of Calipso Press, a printing studio, publishing label and artistic collective established in 2015 in Cali, and since 2022 based in NY. Calipso hosts a residency program oriented to expanded publishing and printing experimentation. They have participated in Art book fairs such as NYABF, UNFOLD Shanghai, Libros Mutantes Madrid, Rrreplica México and curated contemporary art projects such as Post Digital Mimeography (Colombia Biennale, Pereira, 2016) and A Sketch for the Future (Miriam Gallery, New York, 2022).
