Carole Naggar
Carole NAGGAR has worked as a poet, writer, curator, historian, and teacher since 1971. She has been a cofounder and Special Projects Editor of Pixelpress 1999-2006 and a cofounder of Contrejour editions. She is a regular contributor to Aperture magazine since 1988 and a Series Editor for the Magnum Legacy Biography series since 2014. She has been a regular contributor to Time Lightbox and the New York Review of Books online and has authored fifty books of history of photography as well as two memoirs, a historical book, a book of fiction and several volumes of poetry, often in collaboration with artists or photographers. Born in Egypt, she currently lives and works in New York and Paris. She is especially interested in topics of exile, language and memory, and practices Japanese calligraphy and painting.
