About the Workshop:

In this introductory yet comprehensive in-person intensive workshop taught by CBA instructor Maria Verónica San Martín, students will have the opportunity to deep-dive into both softcover binding and hardcover binding. Students will learn about non-adhesive structures, bindings for single sheets, and other bindings that can be made with little specialized equipment. Accordions, pamphlets, drum leaf books, and a variety of softcover bindings will be taught during the course. Students will also gain a foundational understanding of hardcover bookbinding including how the structure beneath the cover can affect the final result. Students will develop the skills needed to create a variety of hardcover books that will prepare them for building more complex hardcover designs such as the inboard cloth-bound book.

Don’t miss this chance to dive into the world of bookbinding with this specialized intensive!
