Juliana Ocampo
Colombian illustrator, artist, and publisher whose work focuses on drawing and the exploration of rich tonalities and textures, which she gathers through the collection of found organic materials, as well as using graphite, inks, printmaking, collage, and digital intervention. She is interested in observing different landscapes, both physical and psychological, and how these relate to one another. She is inspired by observing the natural world, telling stories, roaming territories, and studying the narrative and metaphorical possibilities of geographical forms.
Narrative and self-publishing are important in her practice, which is why she directs the independent publishing project Techo Roto Arte Impreso (Broken Roof Printed Art). The project produces artist books and zines inviting young artists to propose a sensitive vision of their world through artistic research.
